UN Environment holds first donor consultation with Germany

Germany and UN Environment had its first donor consultations last 24-25 November 2015 at the UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi. Discussions included UNEP’s strategy and programmes, performance evaluation, the 2030 Agenda, funding and financial inquiry, and UNEA 2. Germany had an eight-man delegation led by Stephan Contius, the Head of Division for Post-2015 Agenda at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety.

The consultation meeting encouraged a friendly exchange of ideas and both Germany and UNEP gained insights on each other’s strategic direction and upcoming initiatives. Germany commended UNEP for its work and expressed its continued support and commitment to the agency.
